So you think

Despite the long weekend I couldn’t help but be tempted to dip in to the Curragh yesterday to take a look at ‘So You Think‘. I’ve seen this horse progress in Australia so my ears pricked up when I heard it was running in Ireland yesterday. It didn’t disappoint and despite it’s short price I managed to get a decent position on it, netting just short of £127. This could be a good summer for the flat season after Frankel hosed up in the 1000 Guineas.

I didn’t beat my total of last year on the Guineas, as predicted, but did OK on the weekend. The only thing that was very noticeable was the lack of money. Both feature races at Newmarket were well down on previous years on Betfair, 20% or so and when a group 3 race only attracts just over £500k you know things are running half empty. No real explanation on why volumes were so weak this weekend but if you have any, feel free to express them in the forum as I’m surprised to see such, relatively speaking, weak markets. Let’s hope its a bit more buoyant this week.
