Croatia 2 Spain 2 ?

Some of you with long memories may recognise this scenario from Euro 2004. Back then Denmark and Sweden need a 2-2 draw to ensure they progress to the knockout phase of the tournament at the expense of Italy. Remarkably the game ended 2-2 to howls of protests from the Italians.

Wind forward to 2012 and we have a similar situation. However, Croatia and Spain have tried to quash conspiracy theorists who suggest the two sides would settle for a 2-2 draw, a result that will take both teams into the quarter-finals again at Italy’s expense.

It would be remarkable to see the match end in a 2-2 draw but that hasn’t stop people from pricing this up when the market opened. You could back the 2-2 draw at the remarkable low odds of 5.0. Since then it’s drifted out fairly consistantly. Should be an interesting match!
