The massive gamble that wasn’t

Credit to BETDAQ tips that highlighted the rather unusual situation that developed at Wolverhampton this evening.

Irish trainer, William Murphy, sent four horses to Wolverhampton that hadn’t run for many ages, the least was 832 days ago. All four were backed very heavily causing the bookmakers to run for cover and offer SP only in the races.

Come the races however all four horses performed badly and all finished stone dead last, some by quite a margin. Anybody following the money would have lost a small fortune! They did present some great trading opportunities though. Once that first gamble wasn’t landed people got nervous and as the evening unfolded, they were pretty keen to make sure they were not on the remaining horses. I’ve included the graph from the last runner.

Unfortunately I couldn’t do much other than listen to the phones calls and read a few text messages about the unfolding situation; I’d promised myself a break after Cheltenham. But his turned out to be a very strange evening!
