My favourite football trading set up

We had a couple of wonderful matches in the champions league last night, I am hoping for some more tonight.

If you want to qualify the comments on this post, simply browse the football related posts I’ve made over the years on here and you will see why last night was a really nice set up for a possible bumper result.

Both matches last night were good trading fodder as they had a really strong incentive to score in both matches. To top it off you needed the outsider to scorer first or the away team to take and early lead and both matches threw up one scenario each. You couldn’t have predicted the drama that followed though, especially in the Dortmund match.

The reason I like these set ups is that the propensity for a goal goes sky high. At short odds Dortmund were really expected to win their tie but went down to a 25th minute Malaga goal. An equaliser was quite a high probability and the stats reflected this, Dortmund had to score. Finely balanced at 1-1 the incentive to score was still with Dortmund and as time wore on and Dortmund searched for that goal, Malaga took advantage and that blew the door wide open for a grandstand finish. This was exactly what we got but on that very rare scale that produced a 580 winner in Dortmund in the match odds market and 1000 in the ‘qualify’ market.

It’s the sort match you dream of, but can’t readily predict. You just know it will happen now and again and hope you are in the right position to do something about it.

I’m looking forward to see how this evenings matches play out. If we get half the entertainment it will have been a fine set of matches. We still have the Europa league to come on Thursday as well.
