Easter Bank Holiday Monday
You would think that perhaps lots of racing would be a blessing, but on day’s like this it’s a curse. I forgive racing for wanting to put on a show for punters, but it’s a mare for us on the other side. Just too much racing!
There are 705 runners today over 67 races, an average of 10 runners per race. If all races start on time, then there will be 24 clashes today. If races start on their average start time (usually later than post time) then we could see 36 clashes.
This is important because trying to trade a market is reliant on how ‘smooth’ it is. Too little time between races and it becomes really tough, if the start times clash it can become almost impossible. In that 67 there will only 14 races where we have three minutes or more to trade. If you pad out the timings to allow for the average start time then you end up with only four races that have a decent amount of time. That means very few races will reach ‘critical mass’ at any point and be suitable fodder. Not an ideal set up.
That’s not to say there isn’t an opportunity out there today, it will just be very hard to find. IMHO better to spend time with the family.
