Two horse races
Here are three two horse races for you: –
(1) A two horse race yesterday at Epsom, utterly depressing. Difficult to trade, I made a loss.
(2) A Tennis match, a joy of uncertainty and volatility. Currently occurring daily in NY at the US Open Tennis at the moment. Lovely to trade.
(3) The ensuing premier league battle. Two horse race? I hear you say, but the market is speaking loudly about the prospects of the key teams already.
Chelsea have shortened a little as they live up to their favourite billing. Man City have shortened quite a bit from 3.75 to trade below 3.00. The market is discounting those as the two clear favourites, the premier league title is developing into a two horse race already it seems.
Part of the reason for this is the lack of progress by the chasing pack. Arsenal and Liverpool have as their title credentials are questioned. Spurs have come in a bit, but the unfolding crisis of confidence gripping Man Utd is the clear dominant factor early in the season. They have drifted from late 5’s to 14’s already. It’s interesting to note that even after last seasons start they were only out to 6’s by the end of September. See the following graphs.
It’s going to be an interesting season!
