Derby Day is almost here
Isn’t the Derby in June? Yes and no….
If you are in Australia, early tomorrow morning (UK Time) is Derby Day at Flemington in Victoria. This kicks off the Melbourne Cup carnival and a week of top class Australian action. On Tuesday we have the race that stops a nation, the Melbourne Cup. It’s a busy period full stop on the horse racing front, as we also have the Breeders Cup on as well.
Typically the Friday on Breeders Cup day is a quiet pre-cursor to the big action on Saturday. This year it’s taking place a bit earlier than recent years as it has shifted east from west in previous years. This should suit people in the UK as it will dovetail with the slight less prestigious Dundalk and Wolverhampton cards.
If you really want to push it, you could actually trade clean through from midday Friday to midnight on Saturday. That’s a bit masochistic, but something I have actually done in the past; but I’m a little more relaxed now.
Good luck if you are trading them, it’s a good way to close out a busier period as we head into the tougher winter schedule (In the UK at least)
