The Flat is back
Today marks the traditional return of the flat turf season. So that means the end of the footy season is near, the Grand National is right upon us and the first Golf Major of the year is also here. Time to really start building up your activity!
The Lincoln has been going since 1859 and this complex handicap is traditional launcher for flat turf racing. There have been some two-year-olds out already, so the flat season has started but this …
The flat is back
While playing Football World Cup in the desert may not be a great ideal, running the world’s richest race is!
This weekend we have two key events in the racing calendar , the highest profile being the Dubai World Cup in Meydan. Here is another sports event I will make the effort to attend some day. For the moment, I’m still sat behind my monitor taking an active interest in it from the other side. The racecourse was designed to …
All weather, all change
It’s the 1st of September and Monday evenings at Windsor and a thing of the past for another year. I mourn the passing of the summer, but it’s not all bad news on the racing front.
In the summer you will find that with so many races on the liquidity dilutes itself across many races. Therefore you can have days were the entire card is weak from a punting and trading perspective. Contrary to BHA opinion, more races doesn’t equal …

Some of the testing I’ve been doing on new ideas came good as well, so I’m really chuffed. The champions league didn’t really through off a quality opportunity last night, but apart from some stuff before the off I didn’t really get that involved. Second legs should be interesting.
I prefer to know whether I’m in a …
Richest race in the world
Today sees the worlds richest horse race take place at Meydan, the Dubai world cup.
I’ve dabbled on the Meydan markets this year and they have been just fine. A very useful addition to the P&L during the tough winter months. Therefore I’d recommend a dabble in these markets if the volume is holding up and there is no clashing with other races. The world cup stands out on it’s own as a race later in the day so that …
Flat packed
Today we saw the turf flat racing season kick off at Doncaster. Things will start to get busier from here. They turned out to be pretty busy today as well! With the meeting at Nad Al Sheba running at the same time it was a busy day, but one that turned out to be quite tradable as well. Had a rollercoaster day but just like the ride I enjoyed it in the end and just wanted to get on again! …
