After a successful Chester meeting, our journey through the Summer flat racing season continues as we roll onto York for the Dante meeting this week.
Trading conditions
The Dante meeting isn’t that radically different from Chester in terms of how it is likely to trade. The York card looks good with plenty of group racing, but the other stuff on the card today looks a little ‘testing’. So it will be a question of flexing in and out of the races that suit your style. That is more or less how the card trades at this time of year.
As we move through the early part of the flat turf season, the early part of the week gets weaker; while the back end of the week gets stronger. For the year, repeat but extenuate the big meetings.
Benefits
With the shift in race meetings some a shift in focus for me. I’m not far away from having more free time early in the week, as when the card drops to two meetings in the afternoon I can find better use of my time. That and my focus narrows in on the bigger meetings and multi-day meetings, like York. That provides me plenty of opportunity to feast on.
I’m looking forward to getting stuck into York this week!
